  1. Aus 91-3

Moeen is bowling his off-breaks with the benefit of the big leg-side boundary, but a powerful Marsh sweep still goes behind square for four. Moeen has been expensive. 22 from his three overs.

  3. Mitchell Marsh is the new man. He played well in the third T20, but England will think they have a chance here. Looking again, that was an excellent catch by Jos Buttler, flying to his right.

    BBC Test Match Special

Australia have been exposed at number five and six over the last year or so.

    Michael Vaughan

Ex-England captain on Test Match Special

Was Stoinis thinking about the short ball? He just didn’t get close enough to that delivery. It’s a good, sharp catch from Buttler, it went fast.

  6. WICKET

    Stoinis c Buttler b Wood 43 (Aus 80-3)

England have another! Pace does it again, Mark Wood picking up his second. Again it’s a full length, Marcus Stoinis driving but only getting a thick edge. Jos Buttler takes a fine diving catch in front of where first slip would have been. Slow pitch? It’s Wood and Archer that have done the damage.

  7. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

    Ex-England captain on BBC One

Looking at how can England can become better before the next World Cup, they can be a better fielding team. You look at that last T20 game in particular, their fielding was horrific.

  8. Aus 79-2

Stoinis is making the most of the opportunity presented to him by Steve Smith’s net-session thwack to the bonce. A powerful biff down the ground brings for off Moeen, a couple of bounces to the long-off fence.

  10. Aus 71-2

Still a slip in place as Wood thunders in to Labuschagne. With the field restrictions relaxed, there’s a sweeper on the off side to cut off a flowing drive from the man born in South Africa. Wood is touching 92mph.

  11. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

Ex-England captain on Test Match Special

It’s a steady start for Australia, it must be so hard to play against England because it’s hard to know what a good score is. The England batting line-up is so powerful.

  12. Aus 68-2

    Stoinis 34, Labuschagne 8

Labuschagne is trying to get outside off stump, which helps him when he’s hit on the pad – outside the line, so shouldn’t be lbw. Australia work it around well. Five from the over.

  13. SMS Message: RE: Sam (13:47 BST) – There is one story where Thomas tries to drive himself and ends up crashing into the stationmaster’s house. from Alan in Herts

  14. Aus 63-2

I had to Google ‘anthropomorphic’. Moeen Ali is coming on.

  15. Jaymes Hollingworth: I always wondered why in cartoons about anthropomorphic cars, why are there still taxis going around? Who’s taking those taxis? Smaller cars?

    Charles Dagnall

    BBC Test Match Special commentator

Stoinis has a nice touch, he’s not all brute power. He has a rounded game.

  17. Post update

    James Anderson

England bowler on Test Match Special

We’ve seen good movement from the bowlers but there’s not much margin for error. Anything slightly wide and it is punished.

  18. Aus 63-2

I like Marcus Stoinis. Seems like a decent bloke. Plus he’s got massive biceps and looks like he could play James Bond. He’s started really nicely, this time punching Wood off the back foot through point. An edge to third man is fortunate, but he probably deserves a bit of luck. Now a pull for four. Expensive over. Stoinis has 32 from 24.

  20. Aus 50-2

Labuschagne is wearing black socks. Village. What isn’t village is his straight drive back past Chris Woakes for four. Like the swing of a pendulum. That might be it for Woakes.
