  1. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

Matheus Pereira lines up the free-kick and it looks good – but hits the head of Harvey Barnes and flicks away wide.

  2. YELLOW CARD

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

James Justin is caught out again, the ball is played in behind him and Darnell Furlong is flying up the wing. Justin brings him down just outside the area and he’s in the book.

  3. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

Good pressure from West Brom’s Matheus Pereira to rob the ball from James Justin but it comes to nothing, he then nutmegs Caglar Soyuncu which is very nice. Hope he called it.

  4. Post update

‘Unexpected wing-back in the bagging area’

Andrew Dickson: Just switched on the game. I reckon the West Brom players can’t walk past a self checkout without their price appearing.

  6. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

    I wouldn’t say no to a shot.

  7. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

Albion’s front line is fluid, Callum Robinson is nominally the striker but he’s drifting all over the place. His cross goes worryingly through the middle of the Leicester defence, it comes to Darnell Furlong and his ball back in deflects just wide.

Grady Diangana then threatens down the other wing. Good start from Slav’s lads.

  8. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

TV comms’ first dig at these West Brom numbers. They are more or less impossible to read to be fair.

Wilfred Ndidi makes his first rick at the back, a poor backpass gifts Albion a corner.

  9. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

It is, as expected, Wilf Ndidi at centre-back for Leicester with James Justin at left-back and new boy Timothy Castagne on the right.

  10. Lovely day

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

It’s a beautiful day to mark the start of the Premier League season at West Brom.

Given West Ham’s struggles last night, it will be interesting to see how West Brom midfielder Grady Diangana does given even Hammers skipper Mark Noble was not happy about the youngster being sold to the club he spent last season on loan with.

  11. Post update

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

Going to take a while to get used to Leicester playing in a Hearts kit. Jamie Vardy nearly gets in behind but West Brom come away and Grady Diangana scuffs a shot wide at the other end. Mark Noble turns over.

  12. KICK-OFF

    West Brom 0-0 Leicester

    But we’re up and running!

  13. Post update

West Brom v Leicester (14:00 BST)

What you want to see a minute before kick-off, a man gaffa taping some part of the goal posts together.

  16. Post update

West Brom v Leicester (14:00 BST)

And now here come West Brom. I have issues with those stripes but let’s leave it at that.

I’m intrigued to see how Slaven gets on, he was great at West Ham for a bit but then they let Payet leave. They’d still probably have him back.

  17. Post update

Jake Livermore is in the tunnel as here come Leicester in, well it’s very nearly claret. Maroon.

  18. ‘If Baggies are smart, they can pick up a really good striker’

West Brom v Leicester (14:00 BST)

    Robert Earnshaw

Former West Brom striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I like Rhian Brewster and he got good experience last year on loan at Swansea from Liverpool. He’s got fantastic movement and he’s a brilliant finisher.

They’ve been linked with Troy Deeney at Watford as well but he offers you something not only on the pitch but also in the changing room.

I’d say Brewster is slightly ahead because he’s at the point where he wants to step up in the Premier League, he’s had a good pre-season with Liverpool and if he was to move to West Brom he’d definitely score goals. If Baggies are smart, they can pick up a really good striker.

  19. Post update

Can West Brom still add a striker? One ex-Baggie thinks so

Joel Murray: As an #LCFC fan I can see us losing ground in the league with few signings to Spurs and Everton, maybe Arsenal too.

A lot will depend on yet another ‘restart’ and who can continue their momentum, or kick start some good form…

Neil Harris: interested that Pat Nevin says Ndidi isn’t a centre back. It was his good friend Alex McLeish who converted Ndidi from CB to CM when he was at Genk. Been playing there in pre-season for #LCFC because of the CB issues
