All times stated are UK

  1. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Helder Costa is the first player to score a Premier League goal for Leeds at Elland Road since Alan Smith against Charlton way back in May 2004.

His strike after five minutes is also the earliest Leeds have scored a home Premier League goal since April 2003, when Mark Viduka scored after four minutes against… Fulham!

  2. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Luke Ayling pushes high on the right and tries to whip an early ball in. It’s well back by Ivan Cavaleiro and he prevents the corner too.

Kalvin Phillips then does well to win a free-kick in a good position on the right.

Rafa let Mitro go from Newcastle because he wasn’t a Premier League striker and because he didn’t trust him to stay on the pitch. He won’t save Fulham.

David Ljunggren:if you had given me that much time and space at the far post I might also have had a chance. What apocalyptically bad defending from Fulham

  5. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Illan Meslier chooses to punch the corner away and it falls for Harrison Reed on the edge of the box. He’s rushed into the shot and ends up skewing it way over.

  6. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Ivan Cavaleiro puts the ball in from the corner and Michael Hector is there to attack it. He gets good contact on the header but a late deflection off Robin Koch helps it over the bar.

Atul:Get Bielsa as your manager. Leeds is here to stay in premier league as long as he will be there.

  8. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Joe Bryan tries to link up with Ivan Cavaleiro on the left but they’re on different wavelengths.

Fulham are starting to settle a little now though and they win a corner on the right side.

  9. ‘We have only ourselves to blame’

    Everton 5-2 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

    West Brom boss Slaven
    Bilic told BBC Sport:
“We did so many mistakes we can’t do at this level.

“Why I’m frustrated is the way we were tactically in the
first half, we were closing them down, passing the ball, the way we pressed
them, it can’t be 2-1 for them. To show that naivety to go down after we are
1-0 up and to get the red card is frustrating.”

On the Gibbs red card: “He can’t do that, he’s old enough. He’s
experienced. He played a great game until then. He reacted to something James
did to him but he wasn’t clever enough to go down when he clipped him. He
reacted and gave the referee no choice. It was our mistake.”

On his own red card: “The analysis guys told me it was a
foul for us before their first goal. They should have seen that Dominic Calvert-Lewin
is going for the ball and doesn’t touch it. The reason Darnell Furlong is heading towards goal, it’s a
    foul.

“As a manager I should be in a situation to ask the referee what’s going
on. It’s not like the game was going on, it was half-time – nobody was around.
I didn’t swear. I asked him in a frustrated way but I didn’t go over the line. But he just ignored me and gave me red. As
a manager you have that right if you are not crossing the line. I told him if
you want to kill us, kill us. That’s all.

“We showed some naivety. We had enough players to defend the
set-plays. We saw everything in this game – a lot of quality, a lot of things
to be proud of and build on. Just copy and paste in next game. But unfortunately
there are enough things we can’t do on this level.

“We have only ourselves to blame. There shouldn’t be lessons. We have set-plays
in the Championship against some teams even more dangerous than this level. The
amount of 6ft whatever guys. You can’t switch off.”

  10. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Aleksander Mitrovic touches it on to Josh Onomah in the middle but there’s three Leeds players around him within seconds.

  11. ‘Fulham lacking confidence’

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

    Karen Carney

Former England and Chelsea winger on Final Score

It was poor defending from Fulham. You can’t be giving that away, you have to be clean in your defending from set-pieces.

It’s confidence. Scott Parker has given them a mentality last season but they’ve conceded at Arsenal and now Leeds. They need to be careful.

  12. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

A Fulham-fan colleague has already given up. Terrible attitude.

  13. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Fulham

Fulham are all over the shop at the back. Another curling ball in from the right is deflected off Rodrigo’s shin and into the keeper’s hands.

But he was unmarked in the middle.

Phil Halfpenny:You will find a rather spritely Matt Kilgallon still plys his trade for Buxton. He’s 36. The only other player from that relegated Leeds team not retired.

  15. GOAL – Leeds 1-0 Fulham

    Helder Costa

Stunning strike from Helder Costa! And what a start for Leeds.

It’s come from the corner on the right and is flicked on to Costa, who is completely unmarked at the back post.

He just picks his spot and absolutely smashes it into the roof of the net.

  16. Aleksander Mitrovic does well to win a free-kick in the Leeds half and Joe Bryan comes within inches of putting Fulham ahead. His curling effort swings just wide of the right post.

  17. Post update

    Leeds 0-0 Fulham

Big blow to Leeds to lose Pablo Hernandez in the warm-up. They have had to reshuffle things around in midfield.

Ivan Cavaleiro tries to take advantage by cutting inside from the left, driving at the midfield but he can’t get a shot away.

  18. ‘As a manager I want to hear an explanation’

    FT: Everton 5-2 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to BT Sport about Kieran Gibbs’ red card:“It was a red card. He reacted on something James had done to him. You can’t do it, I told him that.

“When he clipped him he did not go down and doing things a lot of Premier League players do. But he made a mistake.”

On his own red card: “If there is a recording, I had done nothing. I complained, I think as a manager I have every right. It was at half time. I was frustrated, came to him but he started to go.

“I was sure I did not swear, I only explained the situation for the first goal. If the VAR is checking for a minute or even longer then they could see there was a foul in the build up. If you have those eight eyes and they are watching five times they have to see that all. As a manager I want to hear an explanation. I should be in a position to be able to have a word with them but he didn’t want to give me that.”

On his side’s performance:“We were so good in the first half in every way – on the ball and off the ball. That half was 2-1 for us. We have to limit mistakes, they have players in positions with unbelievable quality and that is how they won the game.

“I saw a lot of positives.”

  19. Post update

Just a warning (more to my editor)… that my laptop is getting very warm in this heat. If it blows up midway through the game, it’s not my fault.
