Lots of rumours around Manchester United at present, including one suggesting a bid for Barcelona’sOusmane Dembelehas been made.
I am told that particular aspect is not accurate and that any discussions around Dembele would be for a loan.
Would be an interesting deal. Barca paid Borussia Dortmund £96m for Dembele in 2017 but the move just hasn’t worked out. He was a substitute in the 4-0 win over Villarreal at the weekend, his first appearance since November after recovering from a torn hamstring.
United have also rejected suggestions they have made a bid for Arsenal defenderAinsley Maitland-Niles.

What joke this is becoming over Sancho. Forget about him, move on and buy decent defenders.
Borussia Dortmund have rejected Manchester United’s latest
attempt to signJadon Sancho.
The England winger is United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s
number one transfer target but so far, they have not been able to do a deal.
Dortmund have repeatedly said they would not sell Sancho
once their own 10 August deadline passed.
United viewed that as arbitrary and felt there was still a
chance of signing the former Manchester City player.
However, BBC Sport understands their latest offer, made
within the last week, has been turned down, with Dortmund sources again saying
they are not interested in selling Sancho.
Sancho has indicated a willingness to remain at Dortmund for
another year in the belief a transfer can be concluded at the end of this
season if necessary.
It is not known whether United are prepared to try again
before the deadline closes on 5 October or will now pursue one of their

That’s a huge boost for Villa before they face Championship side Stoke in the Carabao Cup.
Had Jack Grealish not alreadysigned a new long-term deal with Villathis month, you might have thought they were preparing for his departure.
But a midfield featuring Grealish AND Barkley must be an exciting prospect for Villa fans.
Barkley scored inChelsea’s third-round win over Barnsleylast Wednesday.
Aston Villa havesigned England midfielder Ross Barkleyfrom Chelsea on a season-long loan.
Barkley, who has 33 international caps, has been at Stamford Bridge for three seasons.
The 26-year-old has played three times for Chelsea this season, scoring once.
“Capturing a player of Ross’s quality is a real coup for our club and I am certain he will thrive here and improve our team,” said Villa manager Dean Smith.

We’re due to hear from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp later, at about 12:30 BST, to preview their Carabao Cup tie with Arsenal on Thursday.
Tottenham’s Jose Mourinho will also face the media as his Spurs side are back in action in the Europa League on Thursday – just two days after knocking Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup.

One fixture there among Thursday’s games may not seem that significant but it is actually themost important in the Faroe Islands’ football history.
Their league champions KI Klaksvik face the Republic of Ireland’s Dundalk in the Europa League play-off round so are 90 minutes away from becoming the country’s first team to qualify for a major European competition.
With a budget of about £1m, Klaksvik play their home games at a stadium with a capacity of only 2,600 (530 seats), but their match against Dinamo Tbilisi in the previous round, which produced a shock 6-1 win, was played at the national stadium, as their own ground does not fit the criteria set by Uefa.
The club relies largely on players born and raised in the small fishing town of Klaksvik.
“We are like a family,” says Jakup Biskopsto Andreasen, their 22-year-old captain.

Before Tuesday’s game, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho said the sheer number of fixtures his side face means he has to prioritise the Europa League as the money from it is “very important”.
An arduous schedule sees Spurs in the middle of a run of four games in the space of eight days.
After drawing with Newcastle on Sunday and getting past Chelsea on Tuesday, they host Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League on Thursday before visiting Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Francesca Gunn:I don’t know why Woodward is still bothering with Sancho. Dortmund have made it clear since AUGUST! they want 108 mil for him. So why is he still pretending he has any high ground for negotiating it lower. We over paid for Maguire, just pay them already for Sancho.
I also don’t understand why Woodward (well I do) is not swooping for Joshua King. Bournemouth now more than ever need some money, so they could easily get him on the cheap before Spurs get him. We know King would rather be at United than Spurs.
United expressed an interest in bringing the Norway striker back to Old Trafford in January butfailed to agree terms with Bournemouth.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer then signed Odion Ighalo on loan instead while Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship.
Last week it was reported that Eintracht Frankfurt had turned down the chance to take Serbia strikerLuka Jovicback on loan from Real Madrid.
However, Spanish newspaperAS is reportingthat United would be interested in such a deal for the 22-year-old.
